Let’s catch up, shall we?
The most exciting thing to report of late was my trip to Winston-Salem last weekend to get together with Meghan! She’s living in Nashville now, but her mom lives in WS which is conveniently very close to halfway between Nashville and the Outer Banks. We had an awesome few days full of catching up, watching movies, shopping downtown, exploring the city, and enjoying the beautiful fall surroundings. Winston-Salem has a lot more going on in the fall foliage department than the beach does, I’ll tell you that. It was nice to see red leaves and mountains and feel like I was getting a little taste of fall as I’m used to it!
Oh, and we also got together with Zulela in Greensboro and had this epic Skype date with the entire rest of our RA staff from last year who got together in Geneseo! We snapped this adorable screenshot…
…which unfortunately does not disguise the fact that Meghan and I spontaneously burst into tears when Luke left his formal event and literally ran to Corrin’s room to see us. I love these people so much. Even the inflatable member of the ‘Gany Gang put on his Goodwill Christmas Warrior hat and obliged us by making an appearance. You may recognize him from last year’s Allegany Christmas card:
Miss them.
Getting together with Meghan was the first time I’d seen anyone from Geneseo since graduation almost six months ago – needless to say, it was depressing to drive away from each other. Luckily, there were some fun plans to come home to, because you’d better believe that this beach loves it some Halloween.
How legit is Sarah’s Hamburglar costume?! I sewed her cape by hand. And she jacked up my wig. It was a fair trade.
Anyway, it’s just been back to the grind since then – it’s been rainy and windy all day and isn’t showing any sign of stopping. I’m actually sort of hoping this weather will last until my next day off because I’d like to really be able to take advantage of it by curling up with a book and a mug of tea all day! We’ll see how that goes…
